Hey @LightsCameraCrohns ! Did you have to change your treatment before/during pregnancy? What do you know about biologics and pregnancy?

The recommendation is for women to stay on their biologic while pregnant. I stayed on my injection until 39 weeks with my first and 37 weeks with my other two. I had scheduled c-sections for all so it was “easy” to determine the timing. The risk of flaring in pregnancy and postpartum outweighs the risk of staying on your biologic. You can check out the IBD Parenthood Project by the American Gastroenterology Association and many research studies (MotherToBaby) and PIANO that outline the safety and efficacy of staying on medication while pregnant. Prior to getting pregnant this is an important discussion to have with your GI so you can come up with a game plan for how you will manage your IBD while pregnant.
